Settling into Vendasta Square
Figuring out a new building, finding your way around, and getting yourself set up are big parts of your settling into your new job. Let's start by reviewing some of the must-knows below.
Key card — Upon your first day, you'll be provided with a white key card that will act as your fob to access Vendasta's floors from the Vendasta Square elevator. Simply scan your key card over the scan box in the elevator and hit the corresponding Vendasta floor you need to access.
When it comes to food at Vendasta, our Food Operations team prepares delicious & delectable options for breakfast, lunch, and snacks that keep us well-fed, healthy, and happy throughout the day. As a new Vendastian, you will be invited to take part in our four day employee onboarding program, New Hire Academy. This program contains a mix of live sessions, product demos, team-building and self-paced time, and was designed with the following goals in mind:
Ensuring that you have a higher-level understanding of Vendasta and its history, the customers we serve, and different elements of our product
Ensuring that you have the chance to practice and develop transferable skills that will be useful to you during your time here
Ensuring that you have the opportunity to meet and connect with different people across a variety of departments, including Senior Leaders
Ensuring that you feel welcome and ready to hit the ground running upon the completion of the program!

Every Friday at 12:05 PM-CST Vendasta hosts a meeting called 'All Hands' for all employees. All Hands is a weekly meeting intended to get all hands on deck and keep teams informed of the goings-on of the company and celebrate items like company achievements, kudos recognition, promotions, anniversaries, and of course you—our new hires! You will receive some additional information on your All Hands introduction debut in your first week, but we can't wait to meet you there.
Note: All Hands is a mandatory meeting for all employees. Because it takes place over the noon hour on Fridays, we allow our teams to wrap up a little early on Fridays at 4 PM to start your weekend early or have a little fun at the office. Read on below.
You may have noticed that we have our own beer tap and keg here at Vendasta. On Fridays, we finish work at 4 PM and optionally invite our team to congregate in a safe manner for a few friendly beverages (pop, water, beer, wine, coolers, and more). It’s a chance to chat with your new coworkers, play board games, foosball, and just have a little fun. Whatever tickles your fancy really! Our only request is that everyone ensures a safe & responsible ride home and vacates the office by 6 PM.

So enjoy your first few days, settle in, and reach out to our People Operations team or your manager if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions. We are here to help!
The probationary period for new employees at Vendasta is 3 months from the first day of employment. The probationary period acts as a means to ensure that you are accomplishing the right milestones according to your scorecard through training with your manager. It is also an opportunity for you to ensure that your role within Vendasta is right for you. During the probation period, you will conduct 30-60-90-day formal reviews with your direct manager as a way to ensure you are both on the same page with your growth & training. This is also a time for you to provide feedback or ask for additional resources during these meetings.
Upon successful completion of probation, your SunLife Financial health benefits will kick in. The Payroll team will be in touch with you within 1 week of your probation completion to distribute your benefits card & information. There are, however, some benefits that you will have access to starting your first day of employment with Vendasta, including:
Parking reimbursement or corporate bus pass
Food services
Corporate rates & discounts
Vendasta’s pay-days generally fall on the 15th and last day of the month and occur via direct deposit.
Note: pay dates may occur earlier than the aforementioned dates if those scheduled dates fall on a weekend. In this case, the pay date will occur on the Friday prior.
In order to ensure you can be paid properly, all new hire paperwork must be completed at least 3 business days before the pay date.
If your new hire paperwork package is received after the payroll cut-off date (3 business days before the pay date), you will be paid on the next payroll cycle and any amount owing from your start date will be paid out then, as well.

Vendasta currently operates under two dress codes, depending on your position within the company.
If your position falls within a sales role, we do ask that you dress to the business effective dress code. If your position falls outside of this capacity, you will typically fall under the casual dress code. Find a quick summary of both linked here.
We definitely recognize that parking downtown ahead of your first day can be a bit worrisome, so we’re happy to provide you with some suggestions!
Please check out our Work Perks page for information on the parking lots available or obtaining a bus pass.
If you decide to use one of these lots, don’t forget to hold on to any receipts or proof-of-payments received as Vendasta reimburses up to 50% of parking costs, up to a total of $100 for each employee per month. 💸
Head on over to the Vendasta Swag Shop! Set up your account, and purchases will be automatically deducted from your pay cheque!

What is BambooHR, and how do we use it?
BambooHR is Vendasta's Human Resources Management (HRM) system, and the single source of truth for your People Operations needs 🏴
BambooHR is a platform administered by People Operations to empower our teams through common partnerships like recruitment & hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, goal setting, time-off management, and more.
You will have been granted access to BambooHR from the People Operations team upon your start date. You can log-in to BambooHR by using this link and clicking the 'Log-in with Google' to log in through single sign on (SSO) 🙌 Make sure you bookmark this link! You're sure to use it often.
What is Lattice, and how do we use it?
Lattice is Vendasta's People Success system, and the single source of truth for employee engagement, performance, growth and development.
Lattice is a comprehensive platform managed by People Operations designed to enhance communication and collaboration between team members and their managers. It facilitates weekly updates, 1:1 meetings, goal setting, performance evaluations, growth tracking, development planning, and employee engagement through surveys and feedback.
You will have been granted access to Lattice from the People Operations team upon your start date. You can log-in to Lattice by using this link and clicking the 'Log-in with Google' to log in through single sign on (SSO). Make sure you bookmark this link! You're sure to use it often.
Under My Info > Documents, you can access the employee documents you accumulate over your journey at Vendasta. This can include your employee options information, merit increases, internal offers, letters of employment, and more.
Under the People tab across the top navigation bar, you can access the employee directory. The directory is a great way to search out an employee or group of employees by name, title, department, and more.
Under the People tab, you can also view the entire Vendasta team as an Org Chart to help understand which teams fit together and how.
From the BambooHR homepage, you can access your time-off module. Here you can view your vacation day balance, history of vacation/sick time used, and even calculate your vacation balance for a future date.
To request time off, click 'Request Time Off' and fill in the applicable information. This request will be sent to your direct manager to approve.
