Men's Health Awareness Month

November 8, 2023
Movember is a global movement that takes place each November, uniting people from all walks of life in the mission to raise awareness and support for men's health issues. Participants, affectionately known as "Mo Bros," grow mustaches throughout the month to spark conversations about men's physical and mental well-being. Beyond the facial hair, Movember encourages open dialogue and fundraising to address crucial issues such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention. It's a testament to the power of community and shared commitment to improve the lives of men everywhere.
The Battle
For myself growing up, Movember was a fun month where amongst peers we would joke about the extremely limited amount of pre-pubescent facial hair we could grow. I knew that the overall idea was community and support and growing a mustache was a symbol of standing united together as one supporting men's health.
My personal battles and experiences with mental and physical health are the reason I will be joining this year. Having battled my own internal wars with anxiety and depression, I know that it is a battle difficult to win alone. I remember realizing that I was struggling in 2016, after losing my best friend at the age of 15 to cancer. The devastating effects of his passing has had a detrimental impact on friends, family, and myself alike.
Join me
The world is a messed up place and too many young men are dying and not prioritizing their own health. We aren't doing enough to support young men that are struggling - and I want to change that!
Join the me in the Mo-ment, and let's change the face of men's health together.
