"Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships." – Michael Jordan
This is the CEO memo from Brendan about the Yesware acquisition. Let's celebrate and welcome our new partners!
Vendastians,
I know you all love a good story, and I’ve got a great one for you — Vendasta is acquiring Yesware! Before I go any further, I need to tell you that this information must remain confidential until the press release goes live mid-October, 2022. I’m eager to share it with you in advance of the completion of the deal, but this information must remain within our walls for a couple of weeks.
We are growing quickly, and adding fuel to the fire through another acquisition. Yesware is an amazing company, one that we’ve worked with for many years. Our sales department has been using Yesware for years, and is emphatic about the value they get from it. For those of you who are unfamiliar, Yesware offers a robust set of sales enablement and productivity tools for sales teams, including multi-channel campaigns, email templates and tracking, and meeting scheduling. You’ll get to know them soon!
Why are we doing this?
Vendasta and Yesware are joining forces to create the world’s best-in-class sales engagement platform. Our teams are better together — we align on values, culture, and technology. Even before the deal is final — which is expected to take place on September 30 — we find meaningful existing alignment. This acquisition will increase the speed we can bring great technology to market and accelerate our long term roadmap. Together, we take a user-first approach, building an end-to-end selling system users love that delivers results. By adding the leading sales engagement tool, Vendasta partners can use their CRM wherever they work — gmail, Microsoft, and even Salesforce. Vendasta and Yesware are accelerating our strategies to build a CRM with sales enablement and marketing automation capabilities. This will be huge in our industry. A few of the main reasons we’re doing this:
Adding Yesware's technology will accelerate our roadmap — specifically in the areas of sales engagement and CRM — by up to two years.
Adding Yesware's tenured team will add industry leading domain expertise in the CRM and sales productivity space.
Yesware's product-led go to market expertise, coupled with the channel of sales professionals and resellers we've built over the past 15 years, will allow us to reach new parts of the market neither of us alone has been able to.
This will be a huge advantage for our partners, and our teams will be a great complement to one another. I couldn’t be more excited.
We are bringing the expert Yesware team and their domain experience to Vendasta. By joining forces through merged values and alignment, we create more opportunities, and solve more problems, faster. We are building the next generation of sales apps that integrate into existing workflows, delivering an amazing customer experience.
At All Hands this afternoon I’ll provide more information. A few other key dates to keep your eye on:
Sept 30: At this week’s All Hands, I’ll introduce you to Joel Stevenson, Yesware’s CEO. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and find out more.
≅Oct 14: Press release goes live
After that: You can expect a demo, lunch and learns, and to meet your Yesware counterparts.
Thank you for sharing my excitement about this deal! Another reminder that this information must remain confidential until the public announcement. Yesware employees have also been made aware of the deal.
Yours in innovation,
Brendan
